Wild places, real moments, your love story

Cinematic Elopement Photographer in Sweden & Europe

Rooted in the wild south of Skåne. Available across Sweden, the Nordics and all of Europe.

Some love stories don't belong in a ballroom. They belong on a windswept cliff, in a quiet forest at golden hour, with no audience but the two of you and the landscape that holds you.

Elopement Photography in Sweden, and Beyond

Welcome

I'm Sara,

the photographer behind Lovestories By Sara.

Home for me is the wild south of Sweden: the dramatic cliffs and crashing sea at Hovs Hallar and Kullaberg, the deep forests of Söderåsen, the quiet beaches and open fields of Österlen and the south coast.

This is the landscape I know by heart. I know which cliff is empty at sunrise, and where the light turns soft and golden in late summer, which means less time figuring things out and more time simply living your day.

I photograph elopements and intimate weddings here the way they actually feel: cinematic, tender and completely real. I'm the one who'll well up when you say your vows, carry your bouquet up the trail, and quietly catch the in-between moments you'll want to live inside again and again.

And when your heart is set on somewhere else, I travel. Across Sweden, the Nordics and all of Europe, to tell your story wherever it belongs.

A Cinematic, Documentary Approach to Your Day

Cinematic, to me, isn't stiff or staged. It's light, movement and emotion, images that feel like stills from a film about your love. I guide you gently when you need it, then step back for the moments you don't plan: the laugh you didn't see coming, the forehead resting against forehead, the way you look at each other when you forget I'm there.

We're probably a match if you…

  • want your day to feel intimate and honest, not performed
  • love being outdoors, cliffs, sea, forest, the wild and the quiet
  • care more about the experience and the feeling than a big production
  • believe your love story deserves to be told beautifully

Where we can go

Home base is Sweden, the dramatic coast and deep forests of Skåne, and the light of the north. But love doesn't stop at borders, and neither do I. The Dolomites, Lofoten, the Scottish Highlands, a quiet cliff in Portugal. Tell me where your heart is pulling you, and we'll make it part of your story.

Where we can go

The Wild South: Skåne & Southern Sweden

This is home, and where my heart is. The cliffs and open sea at Hovs Hallar and Kullaberg, the deep quiet forests of Söderåsen, the rolling fields and soft beaches of Österlen and the south coast. I know these places in every season and every kind of light. If you dream of saying yes somewhere wild and beautiful in southern Sweden, you're already in the right hands.

Across Sweden & the Nordics

From the lakes and forests further north to the mountains and the long Nordic light beyond, Sweden is full of places worth saying yes in. I travel throughout the country and across the Nordics for couples chasing a landscape that means something to them.

Across Europe & Beyond

Love doesn't stop at borders, and neither do I. The Dolomites, Lofoten, the Scottish Highlands, a quiet cliff in Portugal. Tell me where your heart is pulling you, and we'll make it part of your story.

Mareike  & Alex Wolf

Sara was our photographer for our small elopement in Sweden. We come from Germany, so we had no opportunity to meet Sara in person before the wedding, but the contact was always good and we talked about our wishes and everything.

So we met Sara first on our wedding day and we felt comfortable right away. She was so kind to our son even if he couldn't understand her, because we were talking in English.

She was so present, but never intrusive and the photo shooting after the ceremony felt very authentic and was fun for all of us. Sara had great ideas and responded to our wishes.

The photos turned out amazing! They are so beautiful and I love the feeling of them and how they convey emotions.

We are very gladful and very happy to have had Sara as our photographer. These memories are so wonderful! The photos came out exactly how I dreamed of.

Thank you very much!

What it's like to work with me

From your very first message, you get more than a photographer. We'll talk through your day and your dream locations, I'll help with timing and ideas, and when the day comes I'll be the calm, warm presence in your corner; bouquet-carrier, hype-girl and storyteller all in one. So that you can simply be in your day, and live it again every time you look at your photos.

Every story starts with a hello

It starts with a single message. Tell me about the two of you.  your story, your date if you have one, and the kind of place you dream of saying yes in. No detail is too small. This is where it begins.

Step 01

Let's talk it through

We'll meet on a video call and get to know each other properly, not just logistics, but you. We'll talk through your vision, I'll answer every question you have, and when it feels right, you secure your date with a booking fee.

Step 02

Dream it up together

This is the fun part. We'll shape your locations, your timing and the rhythm of the day, so the light falls golden and nothing ever feels rushed. I'll bring ideas, handle the planning details, and make the whole thing feel effortless for you.

Step 03

Your day

I arrive as a calm, warm presence, part photographer, part bouquet-carrier, part biggest fan. You live your day fully, I quietly tell its story, and we let the real, unscripted moments lead the way.

Step 04

Relive it

A few days later, a first sneak peek lands in your inbox. Then your full gallery arrives, edited in my cinematic signature style, ready to download, print, and return to for the rest of your lives.

Skåne & Southern Sweden

from 2 500 €

This is home, and the landscape I know by heart.

The wind off the sea at Hovs Hallar, the cliffs of Kullaberg dropping straight into the water, the deep green quiet of Söderåsen, the soft fields and near-empty beaches of Österlen. I know which spot is still and golden early on a Tuesday morning, and where the light turns soft and low at the end of the day. That means less time figuring things out and more time simply being in your day, beside someone who already knows where the beauty hides.

Around 4 hours of guided coverage. All local travel included. Full planning support.

North of home, Sweden keeps unfolding: still lakes that hold the whole sky, forests that seem to go on forever, the long low light of the far north. If your heart is set on somewhere wilder or further afield, I will travel with you and find the version of it that feels completely yours.

Frequently asked questions about elopement photography in Sweden

Is it selfish to want a day that's just ours?

This is the question that keeps a lot of couples up at night, and it deserves an honest answer. Choosing an elopement isn't choosing against the people you love. It's choosing a day that feels true to the two of you. Most families come around the moment they see how happy and how completely yourselves you were, especially in the photos. And eloping doesn't mean leaving everyone out. You can still gather them another way: a dinner when you're home, a celebration later, a gallery to share. Your day can be just the two of you, and still bring your people in afterwards.

What if we love the idea but we're not exactly adventurers?

Completely fine. Loving wild places doesn't mean hiking for hours or sleeping in a tent. We can find somewhere that takes your breath away and sits a short, easy walk from the car, and build the whole day around comfort as much as scenery. Some of my favorite moments happen when a couple is warm, relaxed and a little surprised by how effortless it all felt. My favorite place Hovs Hallar is every nice place when you don't want to do a long hike. You don't need to be adventurers. You just need to want a day that feels like you.

What if we have no idea what to do in front of a camera?

Almost everyone says this, and almost everyone forgets the camera within ten minutes. I don't do stiff posing. I'll give you small, easy things to do, walk this way, whisper the most ridiculous thing that happened this week, hold each other and just breathe, and then I step back and let the real moments find you. You don't have to perform for me. You just have to be together. The rest is my job.

Can we legally get married in Sweden if we're from abroad?

Yes, and Sweden is genuinely one of the easier places in Europe for international couples to marry legally. The short version: you apply for something called hindersprövning, a certificate showing there's nothing preventing your marriage, through the Swedish Tax Agency, and once it's approved you can have a legally binding ceremony with an authorized officiant. I'm not a legal authority, so I'll always point you to the official sources, but I've guided couples through this before and I'll help you understand the steps and the timing so it never feels overwhelming. And if you'd rather handle the paperwork at home and let your day in Sweden be the real celebration, that works beautifully too.

What if the weather turns on us?

Then we make something beautiful out of it. I'm in the Nordics, where weather is part of the story, and honestly some of the most cinematic images I've ever taken happened in mist, soft drizzle and big dramatic skies. I build flexibility into every day, with backup ideas and sheltered spots ready to go, and a clear umbrella is never far away. Rain won't ruin your day. More often than not, it gives it an atmosphere you could never have planned.

What exactly is an elopement?

An elopement is an intimate wedding stripped back to what matters: the two of you, your vows, and a place you love. It might be just the two of you, or a tiny circle of your dearest people.

Less production, more presence and far more room for the day to actually feel like yours.

Do you travel outside Sweden?

Yes, gladly. I'm based in Sweden and shoot all over the country, and I travel across Europe for elopements and couples sessions. Tell me your dream location and let's talk.

What does "cinematic" mean in your photos?

It means I chase light, movement and real emotion rather than rigid poses. Cinematic and storytelling to me is that I want the results to be like your favorite movie or book.

The goal is images that feel alive, like frames from a film about you two. Warm, a little raw, and honest.

How far ahead should we book?

The earlier the better, especially for peak season and destinations that need planning. I take a limited number of weddings and elopements each year so every couple gets my full heart and attention. Reach out as soon as you have a date or a dream in mind.

Can you help us plan the day and find locations?

Absolutely. I'll help you think through timing, light and locations so your day flows gently and you're never left wondering what's next.

How do we start?

Send me an inquiry and tell me about the two of you, your story, your date, and where you dream of saying yes. I'll be in touch, and we'll take it from there.
